• Account information: email address, username, and authentication credentials managed by our auth provider.
• Profile information: optional social profile links (e.g., GitHub, GitLab, LinkedIn) and a Gravatar hash derived from an email address you provide.
• Connection credentials: encrypted personal access tokens or OAuth tokens you use to connect GitHub, GitLab, Bitbucket, or other providers.
• Contribution data: metadata about your commits, pull requests, code reviews, issues, and comments retrieved from connected providers.
• Usage and device data: IP address, browser type, operating system, device identifiers, pages visited, and interactions with the service.
• Support information: messages and details you send when contacting support.

3. How we use your information

We use personal information to:

• Create and manage your account and provide the EngineerImpact service.
• Sync, aggregate, and display your contribution data across connected providers.
• Communicate with you about your account, security updates, and billing.
• Maintain security, prevent fraud, and enforce our Terms of Service.
• Improve the service and understand how users interact with it.
• Comply with legal obligations and respond to lawful requests.

4. Legal basis

We process personal information based on one or more of the following legal grounds: performance of a contract with you, our legitimate interests (such as security, product improvement, and fraud prevention), your consent where required, and compliance with legal obligations.

5. Who we share information with

We do not sell personal information. We share it only with:

• Paddle.com — our Merchant of Record for payment processing, subscription management, tax compliance, and invoicing.
• Service providers — cloud hosting, database, analytics, and support tooling that process data on our behalf under appropriate agreements.
• Professional advisers and authorities — when necessary to comply with applicable law, enforce our rights, or protect users.

6. International data transfers

Our service providers operate in the United States. If you access EngineerImpact from outside the United States, your personal information may be transferred to and processed in the United States. We rely on appropriate safeguards, such as Standard Contractual Clauses, to protect those transfers where required.

7. Data retention

We retain personal information for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide the service. After account deletion or request, we delete or anonymize personal information within 30 days, except where a longer retention period is required by law or for legitimate business purposes such as backups or fraud prevention.

8. Your rights

Depending on your location, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, restrict, or port your personal information, and to object to certain processing.
